How hard is an engine swap?
I am no mechanic but can usually figure things out. My niece blew the engine in her car by letting it overheat. It is a 2000 2.7. The car, otherwise is in decent shape and I do not want to just trash the car.
Given enough time and patience, can a rookie do this? |

Manual or auto? Do you have access to a rack and tools? I'm not sure how the guys here do it without a rack, but lifting the vehicle up and over the engine/trans must be a gnarly operation. Otherwise, I would say its pretty easily if you're patient and take pictures

I'm sure you can do it. You seem to have the desire to and that is what it takes. I've dropped my transmission and done the clutch, RMS, and IMS. I've been reading about doing an engine on Pelican and in Bentley. I've got the bug to find an engine to just take apart and put back together. Just give yourself plenty of time and treat each bump as an adventure.
