Check out the new stripes!

Well, just finished my latest project. I thought I'd share it with a few Boxster buddies! Check it out!

I want to thank the folks at House of Grafx - they helped make the custom side stripe (got the idea from the new Bozster Spyder). Anyone can order them in just about any color - only $35!

Joel

BTW - you can't believe how much faster it is now!

They are brand new - this is the first they've made them. They are surly not on the web site yet. Yes... I do have a recomendation. They made them in three seperate pieces - that made it very difficult work around the rear of the door seam since it upsweeps at an angle (the pieces are cut stright up and down). I had to patch etc. I'm going to tell them to either make one long decal or make the middle and rear segments longer to avoid that problem. Good luck and post if you get them!

That's very cool. Hey, if you stand on a small ladder and take a photo of the car from that angle from a little higher up, I will use it in the "customizations" section of the Boxster book!

You got it Wayne! I would be honored to be in the book! I'm all over that. Do I just e-mail the pic to you? Or, post it here?

Good looking stripes, Do they fade down in the front or is that just the light?

Just the lighting - I wish there wasn't a big shadow on one side... I guess we don't know how to handle things when the sun starts shining up here in Seattle!

Does the stripe work on the soft top too? (just kidding, just kidding)....

very nice looking - and you picked a subtle color that goes quite well. Good eye.

Oh - that's not the sun coming through in Washington is it?

We get stripes like that here in Florida all the time. It's called LOVE BUG season. Just pulllin' your leg...looks good, better than just old white. Now you need some new really hot wheels.

Added a stripe to mine too!

Well, this posting inspired me to do the same to my car (minus the hood stripe). Here is how it turned out. I did have a shop do the installation for around $60 dollars, but if I had to do it over I would attempt it myself.

Cool

That looks very nice on the silver! The script on yours looks longer too. That looks good. Did it give you trouble applying it or having it applied since the letters are on the door line? I think this is one of the easiest ways to spice up our cars for not much money. Let's come up with some other cool and cheap mods. My car came with the Boxster emblem delete when new, but I am considering doing a 550 Spyder type badge on the rear deck lid with the Porsche script. Has anyone seen this done? I saw it once online, but I have not seen any other Boxsters with it since. I definately am not looking to make my car cheesey, but I think that might be a classy addition.

I let two graphics specialist guys apply it and it took them about two hours getting it lined up and trimming for the doors. They charged $80 to do it and it was worth every penny when I saw how meticulous they were and how much work it was. This decal was originally on the 914-6 and I think it looks great on the Boxster as that long open space between the wheel wells needs something.
