98 Boxster windows no worky???

Hello All,

On our Boxster, which has been in storage for several years, we have a strange situation with the windows. For some reason they will not go up or down. I can hear the switch making, but the windows will start to move but stop. Then will do this again a couple of mins later!!

Any ideals?

Thanks for the Help!!!

It a bit unclear on if the window is moving at all, or stuck. I don't know also how smart the sensors are so you might put the top down before messing with it.

I just replaced a door and was amazed how slow the window mechanism was and it looks like just not super strong to move the window up and down. If the tracks had hard dried grease it could be the problem.

Also their may be a procedure if the battery is disconnected on how to reset of the window height but I could be thinking of another car that has the window pop off the seal when you grab the handle.

If you need to get at the mechanism it's not all that hard, you need only a few tools to remove the door panel see the BOXSTER DOOR SWAP thread if you have to get dirty with it.

Sandy

P.S. If you need a regulator or motor I have one from the old passenger door, you can have it if you can pick it up
