Replaced the original clutch and IMS bearing on my '97 Boxster with 105K miles. I have the transmission on a cradle and high lift jack but can't align to engine. Any trick to getting the two mated?

It helps if the engine and transmission are at the same angle. Assuming you mean they are not lined up. If it is the clutch that will not engage, the clutch disc may not be aligned correctly. Re-center it wil the special tool and try installing the transmission.
