Both windows won't go up the last 3.5 inches
Was driving into work this morning and fiddling with both window switches, now both windows will not close the last 3.5 inches.
They operate fine in the lower range. It's just that they won't close off that last 3.5 inches. I appreciate your help. 98 Boxster Base |
Just a thought but any way the roof latch isn't fully engaged? I know the windows drop when getting ready to open/close the top; if it thinks the roof is unlatched, it goes into that mode.

I second that. Maybe unlatch and open a bit then close fully and relatch - the windows should automatically go back up.

That's been my experience also, very frustrating until I heard the rattle going over bumps and realized I hadn't latched the roof when I raised it. Latched roof, both windows zipped up!
I would imagine that if your roof is latched, the problem would be the sensor that confirms that. |
Yup, I'd check the roof latch or at least that circuit. I experienced this after just buying mine and. Oh and by the way, don't tug down on the window side of the roof/top when latching the roof, it's a daunting experience when you suddenly realize your fingers are in the window opening. (don't think I need to explain why I know this)

side cable
Also. check to see if the cables that snug the top over the windows, is in its "channel"..... If its over the window surround molding this will stop the windows from continuing up. If so... Its not that hard to fix.... Just shorten the elastic strap that tenses the cables...........

This happened to me and problem was the switch under the top cover. Easy fix, put top in engine mode and adjust the switch.
