3.4 w/o egas into Boxster S w/ egas?
I've been looking around for upgrade engines for my 3.2S and have run across a few 911 3.4L engines that use the throttle cable. If I wanted to use that engine, would my DME work? Do I just need to change the throttle body to an egas unit, or are there other parts that would need to be changed? I would think I could put my existing parts on, but I would prefer to keep it as a complete engine for resale and would have the flow of a 3.4 body vs 3.2.
Has anyone done this before? TC |

It's a '00, and my wife has an '01. The 996 motor is from a '99.

Your DME will work fine. Swap the longblocks & use your Boxster intake manifold, T/B, & fuel rail. You will have to drill & tap bolt holes in the head to mount the intake, but the bosses are there since the factory does the same thing. While they are out have all 12 fuel injecters professionally pressure cleaned & tested. Install the injecters with the best flow. There are a few coolant hose connection parts you will need to swap also but that's easy.
