Gas Up - Engine Will Not Start

Hello, I just bought a 2000 Boxster and every time I gas the car (any amount) it does not want to start easily.

I have to depress the gas pedal and after a couple of times it does start, sluggishly. Then keep foot on the peddle to rev high.

Once that is done it runs fine. Someone noted that it might be Regeneration Valve - has anyone had this happen to them and does the R&R of the regeneration valve eliminate this issue?

Your help would be appreciated.

Also consider the fuel pump maybe failing.

I had the same problem. It turned out to be a fault in the fuel EVAP system. My mechanic replaced the activated carbon canister (part #996-201-221-07) and the shut off valve (996-605-201-01.)

Here's my post about the problem on the 986 forum: http://986forum.com/forums/general-discussions/14438-hard-starting-after-refueling.html

Good luck

I realize this is an old post but this might help others.....

Happend to me. I called my mechanic and he told me to tighten the gas cap until it "clicked" at least twice. Did that, car started immediately.
