My car started to overheat so I replaced the thermostat and water pump. After I got it back together and fluid back in, I warmed it and took it for a short spin. As soon as it got up to 180 deg. the temp started to shoot up. I checked under the car and fluid was pouring out df the overflow. What else could be causing the fluid not to flow through the system?

You could have air trapped in the cooling system. First be sure it is properly bled. If it is and still goes to the red when driven, you may have a faulty head gasket.
