Replaced my ignition switch, tried to clock to groove to match the old one so they would align. All was well and lights came on etc, but no click or start. Battery was not quite charged enough I guess. Tried again a half hour later and nothing. Key would not turn, wheel locked..Tried jumping the car and wanted to see if lights came on etc, nothing. thought it might be switch alignment issue, but it worked the first time..Thoughts 1999 996.

Possible the electrical portion of the switch is either not connected correctly or was damaged during the repair.
