I have a 99 Boxster with 140,000 miles. When I start it up in the morning there is a loud knocking noise from the engine for around 10 seconds then the noise disappears. It does not return until the car has been sitting overnight once again and is started again in the morning. Note the oil pressure light stays on for about 15 seconds. Oil level is fine.
