Hi, I have a 99 Boxster. The top down light is perpetually on, and the roof won't retract. If I unlatch, the windows will go down, and when I hit the down button, I hear the motor trying to move kuduck, kuduck. Sometimes under hard acceleration, the windows will go down like the top is down. I'm wondering it's a sensor thing or a regulator thing. Any thoughts? Thanks!

Sounds like you have two possible issues. The kuduck is probably a cable issue due to some broken linkages, and the windows are probably the switch up at the front latch by the windshield. Attempt to assist gently with your other hand as you press the button. Once you get the top open enough to see the workings of the transmissions you will see the broken bits.
