2003 986 S. Drivers side window will drop down appropriately but about half the time the glass will pop up before the door is closed. If I pull on either the inside or outside door handles the window will drop down again and I can pull the door shut. In some of the earlier responses I have seen you suggest cleaning and lubricating the microswitches. Is this something that can be done without opening up the door? Is it possible to spray contact cleaner from the outside of the lock and then lube it in a similar manner? Would WD-40 be appropriate for lubing it?

Sounds like the latch switch is faulty. You can trying cleaning it, but if switching when door is open, cleaning may not help.
