I have a question about rear lid micro switch and after-run time. When switch arm is pushed down by the rear lid, after-running time is activated for the transmissions motor. I understand it is supposed to allow the motor to run for certain amount time longer in order for the lid to close properly. I have noticed that my after-running time varies from 0.8 sec to 2.5 seconds. Sometimes when it runs longer it puts stress and tension on the transmissions and lid causing loud popping. Can you advise on the issue? Do you know what the proper after-run time is and what to do to address it?

I don't think the run time is published, as it is likely related to when the switch is seen, current draw and maybe other factors. You can check if the switch is activating when it should be to start.
