Top Wearing Question

Have an 03 2.7. Just noticed that with the top up the headliner rubs/rests against the outboard portion of both roll bar hoops. During normal driving won't this cause wear on the headliner at those spots because of the contact. Also raising & lowering the top won't that cause wear there also from the contact. Is all the tops like that or is mine in need of some sort of adjustment.

The 03 top is different than the previous models. I have lots of room above the roll bar on my '00. You might want to compare your car to another 03 and/or talk to the dealer.

Thanks for the reply, spoke with my dealer on the phone & they checked another on the lot & found the same. Does not make sense as this will definitely wear prematurely. There is a crease or wear spot on mine already where the headliner touches the roll bar as the headliner is stretched tightly & it rubs the roll bar in those spots

Well, look at the bright side. You have a glass rear window. I have a foggy crease in the middle of my window.

I have a 99 and my soft top has developed abrasions, one over each door window and a couple in the fold that goes across the rear window. One person told me that during the first winter of using his hard top on his 99 he got these abrasions. Porsche service determined the soft top was not aliened properly. Porsche aliened the existing top and then replaced the top under warranty.

Anyone else had this problem? and was it covered under warranty?
