I just bought a 1998 Boxster base with 125,000 km.
I plan to replace the bearing. Is the LN dual row the best solution? __________________ This post was auto-generated based upon a question asked on our tech article page here: Pelican Technical Article: Common Boxster Engine Problems and Failures - 986 / 987 |

The LN kit is known to be a reliable good quality choice. Give our parts specialists a call at 1-888-280-7799. They can figure out what part or repair kit you need.

Has the engine ever been replaced? Many '98s were. Engine serial number would tell you. If so then you have to pull the transmission to see what IMS generation is in your engine.
What kit is your mechanic most familiar with? What tools does he have? What instructions does he use? Is he LN certified/recommended? LN makes a good quality kit with tools and instructions that match. Do the pre-installation qualification procedure to make sure you aren't putting a new bearing into a dirty environment. |
