Question on Boxster Headlamp Switch

all of my lights work. however my fog lights will not stay on unless i hold the knob out. if i pull the knob out and release it the knob retracts and fog lights go out. assuming a bad switch but wanted to confirm before ordering a new one.

also the knob wont turn to left from the off position. i think it is soppossed to turn to left when the key is out.
