Misfire, cylinder 2
Hi,
Need your help here!!! Boxster S 2000 with 90K miles. I drove the car, everything was ok. Parked it and when I started it again it began working on 5 cylinder and the "check engine" lights up. I connected the diagnostics and the dtc was p0302 - Misfire, cylinder 2. I tried to change the coil but it didn't help. I sent it to the mechanic and he claims that the engine is dead ![]() the problem is not the coil and not the injectors. So, to fix it will be to get the engine out of the car and you never know what you will end with. He told me that he recommend me to sell the car as is in 30% of the value because to fix the engine will cost a lot of money. Any idea what can be the problem with the engine? Thanks Yaron

you need to do a compression test on all cylinders . if a valve is sticking open you could try some Marvel mystery oil in the gas , say about 4 oz .

So what is the availability of an engine or head from a wreck in Israel? "Dead" is a very imprecise description and not one I'd expect an experienced Porsche water cooled engine mechanic to give you.

Sounds like you need an expert second opinion.
