Can't Fill My Car with Gas
My problem is very simple. When I go to fill my car with gas it will fill about 3/4 of a gallon and then it will act like I am topping off the tank and gas will overflow. I know that the tank is not full. I read on 986faq.com that this is an occurance and the solution is to take your car to a dealership. Now I dont think I am going to be able to make it to my dealership, it being about 45 minutes away. Is there anyway that I might be able to remedy this problem myself. As I understand the problem is caused by the safety flap on the gas tank is blocked by some hoses on the inside of the gas tank, or something like that. Can anyone help?
Thanks alot. David

Try pushing up on the boot that surrounds the gas pump - I have the same problem on my 356 - pushing up on the boot seems to override the autoshut off...
