On a 1997 Boxster, does the clam shell micro switch located above drive motor work in both direction to end the cycle? Mine only works in one direction. When the clam closes the motor does not stop when the top is in the closing position, therefore destroys the struts and arms.

Could be the lid switch that is not making contact when closed, to confirm. I recall it being on the levers, in front near the pivot.
