I think they are pretty similar. However, would need to know the donor vehicle info to be sure.

The 911/996 engines are basically a bolt into the Boxster, BUT the intake manifold is @ a couple inches taller. As described in 101 Boxster projects you need to lower the 996 engine. There is more to it so get the book.
