Should I do it???
I have an opportunity to by a 2009 Boxster S with 17K miles for 25K cash + trade-in of my 2001 Boxster S with 80K miles with original clutch/ims and suspension. It seems like a fair deal and very tempting. Just wanted to get feedback from others.
Thanks... |

Absolutely not.
The cost of the 2009 should be around $25k per kbb.com. I figure your 2001 should be worth ~$10k. The cash difference is ~$15k.

A quick search on cars.com found
a less than 20k miles 2009 S manual for $32K asking. So maybe $30 selling. Minus the worth of yours if in decent condition does it sound like a good deal?
There is advertised, asking, negotiating and selling. All different. All prices are local, seasonal, and subject to the whim and emotion of both the seller and the buyer. There is also the factor of selling something whose condition you know and substituting something you aren't quite as knowledgeable about. Asymmetric information.
