Dr. Phillipe Couillard, was elected on Monday, April 7/14 as the new Premier of the province of Quebec.

Thanks recycled!....I really think that the whole sovereignty/separation issue in Quebec is finally dead and buried! The election results clearly showed that. I have always know Phillipe to be a staunch federalist. His "clean" campaign was very clearly based on this....but...let's see what happens! I don't think Quebecers will be disappointed but, as a former Quebecer, I'll tell you that they are sometimes very tough to please!

a bit of a downer for me because I always wanted dual citizenship. The PQ will never give up on separation but they may have to get a little sneakier.
I left Quebec in 1980 and not much has changed from what I can figure.
The important part is that Quebec now has some stability to move forward.

Though I haven't seen him for about ten years, our families did get together every summer at my grandma's cottage where we saw each other regularly. Phillipe, being the oldest cousin, was very much a down to earth, responsible, but easy going guy that pretty much always had a book in his hands and....a major brain! We all knew he would amount to something.

Funny though, I can always remember him having a beard!.....lol, I think he had a full beard at 15! We used to always tease him about how hairy he was!

Well, the last time a Canadian team won the Stanley Cup, Mtl had a 40 goal scorer (Vincent Damphousse).

Should history repeat it self, with 1 more goal from Max Pacioretty, the cup could be back North of the 49th Parallel for he first time since 1993.

When he first got elected back in 2014 I emailed him and congratulated him on his victory and gently reminded him that he does have family in Alberta so I sincerely hope that Alberta and Quebec could forge greater ties down the road!.."For sure, yes!" was his reply. BUT he had to go and stick his nose into this whole TMX disaster, telling Turdo that the Feds have no right "cramming projects down our throats!" F**K him!
