Porsche Crest Anyone go to the "Porsche Garage Sale" in Calgary?

Did anyone (I did) attend the Garage sale at Darcy Jovic's last weekend in Calgary?

I mean wow, I thought "this guy will have some posters and stuff", but just arriving at his house there was a Gelundewagon, a Esprit, two Porsches and a semi to hall the cars around just in the driveway! Entering the nicest garage I've ever seen in my life (but no lift ), there was a beautiful Ferarri, and two other Porsches in the garage, (did I say WOW!).

There was ALOT of Porsche and sports car posters and memoribilia for sale at fair prices, and I wish I had some money.

It was really cool to see another person crazy over these cars, but some are more blessed than others.

I would love to know what he does to be able to have such a fine obsession

Cheers

I didn't know about it either too bad.

Darcy is a great guy, I met him about 4 1/2 years ago he hooked me up with a carrera tail. He has a PILE of Porsches, at the time I met him he had the MOTEC car that was featured in excellence, the a 944 that won concours awards at the Porsche Parade, plus, plus plus.......

I also know he owns (owned) 2 Lotus' with the sequential turbo. He has a great facination with great cars and was a great guy, if you ever get a chance to meet him and chat take advantage of it.

As for work last I know he owned Renaissance Concrete in Calgary but last time I tried to stop in there it was gone (moved or closed I don't know)

The car is ok, a road going project. It is sitting in my neighbours yard out in the snow and elements But thats ok, it needs a paint job as it is so it'll be done soon. I don't drive it in the winter but didn't get a chance to bring it to my garage in Lethbridge before the snow fell so it may stay in the Hat for the whole winter.

How is life for you? I hope you had a great Christmas and will have a safe New Years tonight.

I am planning for Roundup in July, I am on a new crew with my job and have that weekend off so far. BUT I may be in Calgary most of the summer on a course with work, so I will still have to wait and see for Roundup.

Don't worry DOUG I am trying, nobody wants to be there more than me, and Heidi says she'll come with this year We are hoping to instal the baby seat in the back and make the trip.

Happy New Years all

Shawn

Hi Bob,
I know Darcy too, you must've been at his new home. He just moved in before Christmas. Lynn and I had a tour last summer and his cars were there then.

Unbelievable.

He's a very private and down to earth guy. But he made his first millions in the stock market and built it up mostly through construction companies. Go figure? I've been in construction for over 25 years and my porsche is 30 years old?

I'd pass along the same advise. If you get a chance to talk with him and get to know him, do it. He's a great guy with a lot of wisdom. Besides, he might take you for a ride like he took me once.........Wow!

Wish I'd been able to attend that garage sale too. He probably only did it for a social event and there must've been some great deals there.

Cheers,

30 years old now, but still a beauty
much like it's owners wife:

Hey Rod haven't heard from you for a while!

Yes his car were as amazing as the garage he housed them in. Sure I'd love to be his buddy (I'm sure he would love to drive my SC too)
