Parts for Canadians
Does anyone know of a Porsche Parts supplier in the USA that is willing to help us Canadians with ''special'' invoices? I hate paying all the extra Customs Duty charges.
Thanks .................................... Randy

I purchased a rebuilt transmission from Vertex, and the 'invoice' shipped with the transmission was basically set as the 'core' charge, with the true bill arriving seperately in the mail.

It would be nice if Pelican would accomodate such a need, but that's unlikely to happen.
FWIW - if you're in the market for interior upholstery goodies - I just got a carpet set and stuff from Autos International in socal. They very nicely marked the value of the package for customs purposes at $200 CDN (actual cost was about four times that). The only hiccup here was that they tucked the actual invoice inside the box - if the customs folk had done one of their "random inspections" some kinda jig would've been up. |

Bob at appbiz offered to send the carpet as a gift.
Steve W sent my chip as a gift. Jeff

I forgot, Partwerks in Chicago is very cooperative. You'll see them on eBay selling bits all the time.
