Irregular idling
 

My '85 BMW 325e recently started idling irregularly. The inspection light also came on in the dash. Now the irregular idling starts after the motor has warmed up. When I am stopped at a red light etc. the revs drop to about 6 or 700 rpm then up to about 1500 rpm continously. This only started after the inspection light came on. My car has 270,000 Kms.:confused:
