importing euro version car from us
does anyone know if being a euro version has any other issues other than what has been mentioned by christian about importng.
is it treated the same ? i,m looking at a euro version carrera that has been in us since 86. thanks guys and christian good going your sticky is helpfull to everyone . now if we can just get that loonie back up there. |

Well, your car you are inquiring about is more than 15yrs old, so it is easier to bring in. You should have no problems at all.

the car doesn,t conform to us standards and has a bureau of automotive repair sticker on the door jam instead of the other.

Nope, not one bit. Because you're exempt from RIV, you don't have to worry about any of that crap. It will have to pass a safety to be registered, but that's about it. You're exempt from e-tests (in Ontario), too. You shouldn't have any problem with US vs. CDN standards.

I agree. Customs doesn't care if it's ROW or an alien spaceship as long as it's 15 yrs old.

I imported my Euro , which was imported into California in 1985 with no problems ...good luck
