Rain Never Sounded So Good

Ahhhh - the sweet sound of rain gently tapping on my roof. I hope to get the blue beast back on the road tomorrow after over a week of being grounded.

Even if I had all season tires instead of the P-03's, I would not have been able to take the car out last week. We put a new "metal shake" roof on the house in the summer, and found out a rather nasty surprise: snow does not stick to it. Well, that is not really true, but after snow accumulates to a critical mass, it slides off in a roar that makes you think your house is going to crumble around you. As luck would have it, one of the major confluences of my multi-story roof is directly in front of my garage door.

It took me about two hours to clear it away. Can't wait to go shopping for all-season tires tomorrow....

You're kidding? In the last 2 or 3 hours we've got probably 3 or 4 cm. You're only 40km from here!

Well, I woke this morning to a light dusting of the white stuff, first time I've seen the stuff this year.

Just realized that I have dragged my heels in picking up a classic 911, because now the salters have been around (for no discernible reason) I won't be able to look at cars until the spring...
