Where should I get my spare key cut in the GTA?

I have the spare key post, but I don't want to take it to joe shmoe to get cut from the original.

Anyone have good experience with a good locksmith?

Hmm, I've always just taken them to Canadian Tire. They did my spare 944 key fine.

Someone else, I think Terry (TCB) had a key blank and if memory serves, told me he got it cut at Home Depot. Maybe PM him and ask if the cut was ok.

Guys, I just took my mum for a ride in my car for the first time on some open road. I wish I could have filmed her reaction. Holy cow was that ever funny... She thought the car was going to actually take off by the time we were at the top of second and into third. Too funny...

Mark - I'm in Brockville - blasted here after work, so unfortunately won't be able to meet up tomorrow. We'll have to do a BBQ soon. Did they get your back deck finished in time?

Hehehehe.. I think she reminisced of once upon a time when I was 16 and got my drivers permit. She'd be in shotgun with her finger nails anchored into the plastic dash of the family Ford Taurus as I was "practicing" defensive driving tactics....

I went to Al's Key shop here in Hamilton with a good blank and he screwed it up big time. I ended up going to the Porsche dealership in Downtown Toronto. Perfect job...
cutting the doublesided key exactly seemed to be hard for the local shop...

Well, I went to Canadian Tire, and decided NOT to give it to the band of teenage girls who acted as customer service employees as well as key cutters. Home Depot's machine was broken, so next stop, RONA.

I got two cut, and they are now much thinner than the original. I'm surprised they work actually - albeit they're a bit finicky.

Next time, I'll go to Porsche. Thanks for your reply.

James....

come on up here for a blast in the car. We will go to Home Hardware in Brooklin. They cut keys for both my Porsches (I love saying that!), with no issues.......you need an excuse for a good drive anyway!!

It does work surprisingly, but I have to make sure it's finessed. Mark, I'd love to blast out there, but it looks like rain tonight.

Did you get your car back from the paint shop yet??

Nope.....

went and saw it yesterday, they had the guide coat on the front hood, and had sent the bumpers out for welding (I am filling in the holes for the headlight washers (I hate them), and filling the holes for the rear foglight too.
The front fenders are coming off for prep this afternoon, so I will go see the car primed tomorrow after work.
They should be shooting it on Friday, re assembly Monday, then I am having the balance of the car polished and will pick it up Wednesday likely.
I went to change the exhaust yesterday (see my thread in the Turbo forum).

I can't use it this weekend anyway (big birthday party for Liam - 5 years old), so it's better off where I can't be tempted......

Mark

I had mine done at Pfaff (dealer). They do it for free if your blank is purchased from them. I had picked up some other items, so they slipped my Pelican purchased blank in for free.
