Cayman S or 911
Hey Guys/Gals,
![]() Great Summer here at the Shuswap! I'm seriously considering buying a 993 TT, about 1996 year. Nothing wrong with my 911, but feel a need for a change. For the same dollars I can buy a newer (almost brand new) Cayman S. I haven't driven the Cayman yet, but is it in the same league as the Boxter? Looks like the interior may be too tight for me self too? Anyway, I've got my eye on this gorgeous 993 TT Arena Red; so we'll see what happens. Cheers!

Best thing to do is try them both. Two different but exceptional cars, its just a matter of personal preference/intended use. Either way you win! Just remember to post pics when you pick one up, and let us know what its like. Are you keeping the 74?
I always thought getting a Porsche would cure the itch...but now I find I just start thinking about adding a second one...

Hey Rob, haven't seen you around the forums much these days. IMHO the strengths/weaknesses:
993tt - power - already a classic (in my mind anyway) - will appreciate in value (last of the aircooled turbos) - back seats - higher costs of maintenance Cayman S - warranty - reliabilty - handling - lots of depreciation If it were me I would likely go with the 993 simply for the back seats. Have you considered a pre-owned 997? I would imagine you could find an 05 for near the same $$$, especially if you look to the south..

Yeah, dont get much time to surf on the PC; spend too much time at the cabin and computers and phones aren't welcomed there! ha ha.
Don't sweat it; I've decided to purchase the Twin Turbo; I'm a 911 guy and I'm excited about this next car! Cheers... I'm sure I'll be around alot more looking for info on my next 911?

Wow, that's a beauty. If you buy that car be sure to go out and get the latest issue of total911 (Euro 911 only magazine). An arena red 993 TT is the cover/feature car.

Rob,
You're right it's not listed anymore, it was arena red as well, and I did see it advertised in BC as well so I wondering if it's the same car? The owner of this one (when I spoke to him) was in northern AB. And it was about $64K

OK, I think I know the car and it was on the lot at Weissach Calgary. They moved that car to Vancouver Weissach and its still on the lot. They dont have the price advertised, but a buddy of mine told me they were asking over $90K for it? If it starts with a $7 or better; I'll be all over it; that is one nice car.
Thanks again Bob, Rob
