PPI in Calgary

Looking for a shop to conduct a PPI on a 2003 C4S in Calgary. Any suggestions?

Marc at Alpine Autowerks. 403 287 9114

I second that, Marc is a good resource (when he doesn't have too many Porsche to work on)

I would take it to Riegel because they have mechanics that have more experience with recent models. Not necessarily better but that's where places like Kulu and others take their cars for service..

Both Marc at Alpine and Riegel are great shops with top notch guys. I personally take my car to Riegel. The dealer can do the newer cars too....

Thanks for the information. Do Riegel and Alpine also inspect the paintwork/paint density to ensure that the car hasn't been repainted or been in an accident? Also, should I get Carfax, Autocheck, Carproof history checks? Thanks.

Riegle tuning subleases some space to Mobile Reflections, those are the people which do detailing and have have a gadget to check thickness of paint , They done a few cars I seen and their workmanship is outstanding.

I agree Fritz. Jed at MR also does the Kulu cars. So I figure if a Carrera GT, an F40 and Enzo is good enough for Jed to do, it's good enough for my 911. ;)

How did you car turn out after Jed got to it?

PPI scheduled for tomorrow with Riegel Tuning (Hema). I'm pumped!

911JC911, they done an excellent job. Considering what they had to start with it.
they wet sanded and Polished the car. Now they will come back, redo where I put some scratches in and than they will do the912.
Now I need some salt free roads and than I can try to fire up the 911.

Just picked up my refurbished wheels from Calgary wheels. Car looks much better.

Shack2112 - That was one of the places recommended to me by a colleague that owns a boxster. Glad I asked on this board first. What's the problem with them?

They are the Motormeister of Calgary...HORROR stories a plenty.

That's funny!

OK - so PPI is done and these were the issues (in no particular order):
- Wipers
- Battery is weak (8.9v)
- Coolant expansion cap is leaking
- Small amount of oil in intake system
- Air intake snorkel clip broken
- Coolant weak (-22)
- Rear main seal leak
- Left front differential seal leak
- Front bumper and hood has been repainted (repainted really well though)

All in all the above items would total approximately $3500 to repair. Riegel told me to offer the seller 42k so I did and the guy won't budge claiming he can get 44.5k at the local MB dealer as a trade-in for the new car he wants to buy.

So the search continues... sigh.

It's all good....the search is half the fun. Other half is driving these great cars. Take your time to get the right one.
