Looking for Transport-Pickering to Kingston, ON

I am purchasing a 944S2. The car is currently in Pickering and I would like to have it shipped to Kingston. I am from out of Province so I am not familiar with any of the local transporters. I guess this would be considered a short haul....225K. Any suggestions on who to use ..........at reasonable rates.

Hi. I have a suggestion for you that could save you a lot of money in the long run, I will be home after 4:00PM EST. Is there a number I can call you at. I live in Kingston, Ontario and I do know a lot of the trucking people in town.

Join CAA, become a CAA Plus member ($106.05 + tax per year), which allows you for 200 km free towing. You may have to pay for the extra km above 200 km (Pickering - Kingston = 225 km). NB: there is a 7 day towing activation waiting period. No affiliation etc...

I thought about that angle, and have CAA Plus..........limit is 160K on a tow. So don't know what they may ding me for the extra milage..........do I pay the tow company or reimburse CAA? Have you done this before?

The other fear is who they may send to pick up the vehicle, I'd like to know it is a trustworthy company.

Are you sure it's 160? My membership is 200km free, and, at least as far as towing distance is concerned, I thought there were only 2 options, 20km and 200km. I got towed about 185km last summer, absolutely no charge, though I did tip the driver for helping me try to bump start it, then being a great sport with my daughter in the car, who wanted to listen to Lion King for 2 hours He was really careful with my car - I specified flat bed, and that was no problem. He was a car guy as well - into drag racing 80s mustangs. Not my cup of tea, but at least we had something to talk about on the long trip.

I think that CAA will only tow it if it is currently on the road (plated with insurance etc.)
