Thats is why...
... I buy close to everything in the US.
Drive 1 hour to the UPS store in Ogdensburg. The 27 Cents a liter difference pay for the trip. For the best deal on everything (tool, BP Oil, computer you name it) check Amazon.com :) Do not have stuff cross the border with UPS or you'll find out about there rip off brokerage fee  Check my Shopping in Canada rant; Post 21 of http://forums.pelicanparts.com/porsche-911-technical-forum/552188-scisor-lift-4-poles-lift-again.html |
I always get quoted outrageous prices from nineapart. Drove there once and left empty handed. Randy at wail tail is a real good guy to deal with.
|
Nine-apart/Porsch-a-part has long been a source of frustration, wrong parts, high prices and general run-around. I needed a new headlight for a boxster, didn't even hesitate to call and order from Parts Heaven, 5000km away, rather than drive an hour or 2 to Nine-apart. I swore off them years ago.
|
Nine-a-part is a rip off. I went there a few times and I was like " you want what... FOR THAT?!" don't GO there. Frank is a twit. smooth talking but full of ****.
|
Smooth talking? Last time I dealt with him he was an *******.
|
Yeaper...
Every thing that I was looking for was either $40 or $200... which was over price by just about... 1,000 %
|
Really...

Me: that is list price...how much. Dealer: $600. Me: see you. Bought it in the US for $350. When will business up here ever learn. |

Here is the size chart conversion http://www.sparcousa.com/resourceFiles/27.pdf I went for the cheap ones but they got all kinds. On the site, one would be surprise to search "Porsche" :D;):D |
I didn't even waste my gas driving to Nine Apart.............Frank is effing brutal. I bought a dash in the US, shipped it and had it recovered in leather, and had it delivered at my door for half what Frank wanted for a used vinyl one....
|
Thanks for the heads-up....was planning on stopping in to check it out today on my lunch!
|
Well I am not alone, we should start a suport group! lol

I've spoke with Frank a couple of times, I never thought it was worth my time to drive out there.
My buddy had an old wore out yellow tag dizzy, Frank was insistent that he toss that junk into his scrap bin. I got my buddy a tad better price than "scrap" for it. To me he's working with pre-internet mentality. |
Me: Can you sell a shell and VIN to me.
Frank: Sure, I sell them all the time. Me: How much? Frank: A lot. You can't afford it. That was after he sold me valves with undersized stems and a flasher relay with a cracked PCB inside it. Never. Ever. Again. He's a moron. |
Maybe it's time for...
|
some 1 should link this in the parts section so the guys down south get a heads up
