Oregon Tour October 2011 and again May 2012
A few of us want to do one more tour before the long winter.
 Date: Friday, Oct. 7 to Monday, Oct. 10. Place: The Dalles, N.E. Oregon. Can't get away Friday? No problem, come for Saturday to Monday.  Phil suggests The Dalles Inn which some of you know from previous visits.  The Dalles Hotels – The Dalles Inn Oregon hotel Last chance this year for the fabulous twisties between Shaniko-Fossil.  Comments? Suggestions? Confirmation? Gunter

Another memorable tour.
Thanks Phil and Robert for great company during 2 days of Porsche-heaven in the sun.
And yes, I agree that the new roads we found during the second day 10-hour drive has to be the ultimate, maximum super corner-carving circuit ever.  911 or 993, both are fun. Left turn across the orange bridge into The Dalles:  Can't wait to repeat that one with hopefully more Porsches in front and rear. Best, Gunter

Let's do it again....................
Final dates in May 2012 to be announced but most likely the long weekend.
Certain country roads in NE Oregon are a paradise for spirited driving with very little traffic. Lots of 2nd and 3rd gear curves all within the speed limit and no gravel roads. Hint: It's not going to be boring. Objective is to have fun and display respect to others on the road. The optimum circuit we settled on in October takes about 8-9 hours with Lunch and pee-breaks. There are limited options for Lunch and packing some eats is recommended. Start at 8:00 AM and finish around 5:00 to allow time for socializing and Dinner after. Suggestions and questions are welcome.  Long winter first but there is hope.

Agree.......long winter to wait out - even for those on the wet coast.

Good point, Charlie.
Unfortunately, when editing and going "advanced", it doesn't allow changing the original official heading.  I'll start a new thread with a revised title and info soon.
