Why is it....???

When gas prices go up 4 cents a gallon in the states, it makes the news.

Price jumped in Calgary 10 cents a liter last week and no one blinked an eye....

Maybe it's our Canadian way

The higher prices pays for that medical care system that we think is FREE.

Every time I fill up down there, it always works out to 23 cents per liter price difference.

it's the Canadian way. it's spelled A-P-A-T-H-Y.

aka...SHEEP

At least some of us counter the usual screwing up the ____, by shopping in the US.

You guys have it cheap in Calgary at $3.90 per US gallon (CAD$1.05/L x 3.78 L x 100/98.3 USD/CAD).

In Toronto it's $4.53 per US gallon. There would be a revolt in the US if their gas prices ever reached this stratosphere.

Traveller 01-18-2012 08:12 AM

When it runs you just over $64 to fill a gas tank that wasn't even empty...on a motorcycle...then you know gas prices are high.

... and now people in TO are expected to leave 20% tip at the restaurant. They will sheep along.

You can count in one hands the restaurant in Ottawa that would deserve 15% tip on a continuous bases.

I once left a drawing of a penny as a tip with an explanation why she did not get any. Service in Canada sucks and most people don't say anything.

Out here in Eastern Canada, we're at $1.29 for cheap gas. We're used to being bent over by our province.

barryr 01-18-2012 07:49 PM

We are sheep! no one does the math! We supply the states 60-70% of their gas, theirs ( which is really ours) goes up 4 cents a gallon which is 1 cent a litre for us. So ours goes up 10 cents a a litre or 40 cents a US gallon! WTF!!!!!!!!!!! As all governments get a PERCENTAGE of the sale price in tax I don't expect anything to happen.
Bend over!
