A paid visit to Brazil 4-6 weeks depending on how the project goes.
What to watch out for? What vaccinations are recommended? Any experiences to share? AFAIK, temps and humidity can be murder but July doesn't seem so bad. Any tips or suggestions welcome. ![]()

When in Sao Paulo carry 2 wallets, 1 with some phony papers and a few real to give to the thief sticking you up. Keep the other wallet in a less conspicuous place.
The thieves like to walk up to your car at red lights and point a gun in your face until you produce a wallet so be ready with the phony. |

Just spent some time there
I was just in SP for 6 weeks (Jan/Feb 12) and I didn't have any issues with theft but I do know it is an issue. I would just recommend that you be diligent about your safety and you will probably not have any issues.
Things to do; - See the statue of Christ, it was amazing - Visit the beach in both states. The beaches close to SP are a beautiful and only an hour away. - In SP go the the open markets lots of interesting food/spices etc for sale. - Eat lots of great food, this is almost impossible to avoid they have some of the best food in the world. July will be very nice in SP, like our late spring/early summer (Midwest). If I think of more I will let you know. |
