So You Thought Shell Gas Was Ethanol Free?

Well it isn't anymore....

I noticed a sticker way down near the base of the pump that claimed 87 was up to 10% ethanol, the 89 was up to 5% and the 92 was ethanol free.

So who sells ethanol free regular gas?

For as long as I remember, only the Premium was Ethanol free. http://ecomodder.com/forum/showthread.php/ethanol-blends-10-reg-gasoline-5-mid-grade-12202.html

In Ottawa the sticker is beside the handle.

Good luck finding regular Ethanol free.

I guess I missed this somehow. I'm pretty sure it wasn't well advertised.

I've noticed the V-Power 92 octane at some Vancouver pumps disappear without the sticker indicating whether it is ethanol-free or not.

This an e-mail from Shell, March 2011...

Quote:
Thank you for your email. Shell V-Power Premium gasoline (91 octane) is free of ethanol. Other Shell grades gasoline contain ethanol at the following concentrations: Up to 5% ethanol in Shell Silver mid-grade gasoline (89 octane), and up to 10% ethanol in Shell Bronze regular grade gasoline (87 octane).

Thank you for choosing Shell.

Kind regards,
Jose Meilo

Walked by a Petro Canada yesterday and no stickers indicating ethanol content on the pumps.
