Bit early but..anyone going to the Porsche Parade?

As the days are getting longer and only about 128160 minutes to spring (maybe a bit more for the Albertans...sorry...) I was thinking about all the fun trips that might be in our future.

Never did the CanAm but from what I have been told it's a fun run. Definitely will look into that one.

Drove the Targa West in Nelson this year. Probably again this year! For sure a good reason for a weekend of fun.

Another trip on the agenda would be the Porsche Parade in Monterey. We did the one in Salt Lake a year or so ago and it was a memorable trip. Driving up and down (or should I say driving down and up) was actually as much fun as the Parade...

Anyways, I was wondering if more folks from BC or AB are planning to go. Would be awesome if we could start with a group and pickup more party goers on the way. (Seattle, Portland...etc)

Thoughts?

I'm sure there will be a few cars going down from Vancouver (me included). Quite a few from Seattle area I would expect also. There may be a group going from Great Vancouver but not as many as we might think as 4 or 5 of the members that would have gone have booked to go to Le Mans (same time) to see the new Porsche race car take a run at the overall win.

I live in Chelan WA about 90 miles south of the border on Hwy 97. I plan to go to the parade joining up with a contingent originating in Spokane and Tri-Cities. The join-up will occur where Hwy 97 and I-84 (Mary Hill, WA) cross. The group will proceed down Hwy 97 to I-5. Overnight probably in Bend OR. If anyone is interested in joining the group let me know and details can be worked out.

Sounds like a fun plan! depends if we would go the Vancouver - Seattle route or straight down the 97. To be honest 97 would be my preference....

I'm looking forward to Parade and trying to organize a group of us in Vancouver to drive down. We would probably take the 101 along the coast right into Monterey. It's still early January but have a lot of interest so far. It would be great if we can meet up with some of the others along the way.

I'm going down from Vancouver but flying down on 14th and back on 19th due to other commitments.

There will be a Zone 6 Party on the Sunday afternoon. Not sure of exact location as yet but should know Monday evening.

Hi John, location will be at the Hyatt after the concourse. Follow the signs I guess....Looking forward to meet some new folks! I will be easy to spot. Just look for my mechanic, co-pilot and navigator. A 14 year old with a huge smile on his face!

I am also advised that Porsche Canada is hosting a "Canuck" corner on Tuesday in the Hospitality area from 6 to 7 before the Concours banquet. I got the invitation Wednesday.

My wife and I will be traveling down US97 with Klamath Falls as the overnight stop. We are leaving Chelan WA around 0630. The group plan never did pan out - too many cars with different start places. There will be cars from Spokane and Richland WA traveling the same route. Our goal is Monterey by Sat night.

See you in Monterey, we are working the concurs on Monday as volunteers.
