Cresent Beach Concours
This event is a couple miles from my place. A small, but an amazing event. Each year there is another group of invited participants - an eclectic group of vehicles. This year some great old motorcycles, 1930's and 1960's American, post war British, 1960's and 70's Italian, a few race cars, but very little German.
Crescent Beach Concours d'Elegance Thought I would drop in for a quick look yesterday - before the crowds arrive and one can park within reasonable walking distance. Tucked in the back corner was a beautiful Carrera RS. As I approached I could see she was in amazing condition.....one of those Q-Tip cars. http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1409503448.jpg Original tires and spotless wheel wells....oh my, this will be a feast for the eyes. The rear deck was open.....Certainly need to have a look in there. Crap, the detail here was unbelievable. Wow, someone has done a mountain of work to make it look like new. http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1409503512.jpg I circled around to look in the open passenger door. Just gorgeous!! All the detail was over the top. Little things like seat rails, gear shifter, hand brake and dash were like new. This guy has been busy restoring this one. http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1409503647.jpg I could see the driver window was open and wanted to see the other side of the dash. The steering was in amazing condition and the gauges all looked so clean. Then I spotted the answer for the out of this world condition. Less than 500 kms on the car. WOW!!! http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1409503857.jpg Must be stored in a bag of inert gas when it is not on display. Everything was so well preserved. So - any guesses on value?? I'm going to say $1.2 million. |
Man, that sure is a pretty one. Surprised and happy to see it on the road. Value? Lots!

Wow, what a machine. So mint; so clean! Factory fresh.
I wasn't aware of this event. Maybe next year. |
Last year they had Canada West Region of PCA put together an exhibit of the 7 versions of the 911 along with a few additional Turbo charged 911's. I had 2 cars shown, my '04 996 TT Cab and my '13 991S Cab. It was a fun day.
This year too was fun but as mentioned only the RS and one 356 race car from memory. Would I go back? You bet! |
This 73 Carrera RS is a very special car. Here’s a link to the Excellence article on the car – author calls it “arguably the most pristine restored ‘73 2.7 Carrera RS”.
