Dannmar Lifts at Costco.ca

Neighbor down the street is the "auto stuff" buyer for Costco.

After he saw my scissor lift, he thought it would a good addition to the MaxJax. He also got the 4 posts.

For the scissor lift it's 2K including delivered.

Wow thanks for posting I have heard some rumours about quality but I'll have to look for myself. I really want a scissor lift and have been looking for a while, but am nervous about the quality.

danmar makes good lifts. A few local guys have bought them, especially the maxjaxx and are happy. My 4-post is from ATLAS Automotive Equipment of CANADA (atlas) and it's great, they have prices comparable to what is on offer from costco.

I bought a good used commercial AAMCO 7000lbs. made in USA lift off of Kijiji, $1500 asking price I got it for $1000.
Took it down myself and they helped load it. $70 worth of redheads (lagbolts), $50 Hilti rental and about $100 worth of wiring. I had it up and running the next day.
Also a P/U truck and big trailer I bet mine weighs over 2500lbs. I have an overhead crane in my shop, so I was able to install it by myself. Once standing the post posts are easy to "walk" over to where you need them.

You have to make sure it's single phase if you go this route and this one needed 12' of headroom.

Hey JJ, I bought the Maxjax this past summer. Couldn't be happier. It has paid for itself already, and my aging joints are much happier for not have to crawl around on the floor.

Hi, just wondering what everybody's experience is regarding 2 vs 4 post lifts. I know a 2 post is better for accessibility but a 4 post would be more versatile for me in terms of winter storage as well. What limitations are you guys finding with 4 posters? ie working on brakes/suspension. Any clearance issues when dropping a motor/trans combo for 911 or 914?
I need to make a decision soon.

Thanks Joe

Also, any tips on positioning and space requirements. Just desiging the new garage which will not be huge 20Dx21W. I haven't figured out the height and side clearances yet based on pitch of the roof. I need to stay as low as possible. 2 doors or 1. Any feedback you guys can provide from your experience would be helpful.

Hi TargaT,

I have a 20'x22' attached garage with a 9' ceiling. I went with a 4-post this time around so that I could store 3 cars. Space is a bit tight, but mine is optioned with poly wheels, and I have a mid-rise jack, and a jack-tray, so I can very quickly and easily raise my car off the lift at all 4 corners to do wheel and suspension work. I think it's the best of both worlds. Mine is from carlift.ca (atlas manufacturing).
