Largest PCA Club in N.A.

I was surprised...

Inside the largest Porsche Club of America chapter - the Upper Canada Region - The Globe and Mail

AND

We ( you and I) are situated smac dab in between three of the most historic old F1 race tracks in North America ( and we can go to each for DE events)

California has nothing on us!

I joined PCA UCR to a) get Panorama and b) get access to the classifieds. My first experience with the UCR club was less than stellar. I entered my Cayman in the concours - and won, but that is not saying much as there were only 3 caymans entered. When I signed in at show, I pointed out to the older guy working the clipboard that they had spelled Cayman - Caman. His response was whatev. - There was some (a lot) of snobbishness towards the modern cars. The local printed mag is weak sauce.

I love the national mag.

Yes it can be cliquish, but that can be in any group. I just do the track stuff. It's a better crowd there.

I should add I expect the volunteers jobs are probably pretty thankless - and writing for the local mag is probably no bowl of cherries - but if you sign up, I think it should be for the love of the brand - i.e. the whole brand?

Yes the jobs are thankless, but for the most part all the volunteers and great people and I've made a lot of good friends.

Hold on a minute 2Porsche - first off - I expect most of us that fall in to the PCA UCR do not speak le francais. (I probably got that wrong) I like to think of Upper Canada as being better than Lower Canada - probably fighting words, but hey, it wasn't named that way for location on a map.

As for being the largest PCA region - big deal - LA and Orange County have their own region - that is like saying Toronto / part of GTA has a region. We lump Southern Ontario, and Ottawa and all parts in between in to one. Not an impressive stat.

Incidentally, in what PCA region would Gatineau fall into? I could google that but....

Not entirely. If you volunteer at the June event they're having at Watkins Glen, for example, you can score some nice freebies and watch from the Tower depending upon the job you select, of course.

You got the first part right, but Ottawa is part of the Rennsport Chapter (not the Upper Canada) and is 1 of the 18 Chapters that make up PCA Zone 1 out of the 13 Zones.
