FS: 1986 930 - Guards Red Slant Nose - $36,500 CDN
For Sale: 1986 Porsche 930
VIN #: WPOZZZ93ZGS000131 Engine Type: 930/66 Engine #: 67G00116 Transaxle Type: 930/36 Mileage : 70,000 km Price: $36,500 USD Location: Calgary, AB, Canada The Porsche 930: The 930 (or 911 Turbo) was introduced in 1975 as Porsches flagship car. It combined a 3.0L turbo charged engine, a body shell with flared fenders, a luxurious interior and was an instant hit with the press and the public of the day. In 1978, the engine was upped to 3.3L capacity and, with the larger displacement and the addition of an intercooler, now produced 300hp in Euro trim. To help cope with the new power, brakes derived from the legendary 917 were also standard equipment. The slant nose option was derived to mimic the bodywork of the popular 935 race cars of the day. A number of aftermarket suppliers sold conversion kits that ranged in price and quality. Porsche also entered the slant nose market through their special wishes program in the early 80’s, finally making it an expensive option in 1987. This Example: This 930 is #131 of 1158 Euro / ROW coupes built for the 1986 model year. It was built in September 1985 and was subsequently imported to California and registered there in March 1986. In 1999, the car was imported to Canada and has since spent its entire time in the dry climate of Alberta. At some point this car was converted to the slant-nose look. It’s an all steel conversion and looks to have been very well done. I initially thought it was factory, but the headlights, while round, each have a motor – not like the factory one motor setup. That said, the front fenders are steel, the rear brake vents follow the body contour, boxed rockers are steel, and the oil cooler is fit in the rear passenger side vent. Overall, this is a very nice conversion done back in the day. I recently purchased this as a potential track car, but it’s really too nice for that. I was then going to use it as a weekend car with the family, but with a second child on the way, my wife wants a later 993 that she can drive as well. So….this great 930 is up for sale – hopefully to be replaced with a 993 Targa. General Details: - Guards red with champagne leather interior (original colours) - Steel slant nose conversion: - Steel front fenders - Boxed rockers - Correct rear vents - Oil cooler in right rear vent - Round pop-up headlights – NOT the rectangular Mazda units - Kenesis 17” rims with newer Falken tires - Recent engine reseal - LSD 4-spd transaxle - Includes some recent receipts for work done by the local dealer and specialist shops - Factory owners manual and booklet included - Factory tool kit and jack included - New tires were installed a couple of years ago and have almost no wear on them Body: - Very good exterior - Original colour of Guards Red - 8.5 out of 10 – looks great, but there are a few minor flaws: - Small 1” ding on passenger side roof (wayward golf ball) - Hood was resprayed to repair stone chips – colour matches perfectly, but there are a few minor imperfections in the top coat - No evidence of past accidents or rust - No rust underneath – very solid Interior: - Good champagne leather interior - Very good dash with no cracks - Decent carpets and front floor mats - Sport Seats – minor wear on drivers bolster - Momo steering wheel and shift knob - VDO tell-tale boost gauge in place of clock - Rennline pedals with adjustable gas pedal Engine: - Original 930/66 engine - Recently resealed with new bearings and rings installed at that time - Upgrades include: - Garretson intercooler - 964 Cams by Web Cam - K27 High Flow Turbo - 1.0 Bar boost spring - Fabspeed Muffler - ARP rod bolts - Starts instantly and runs strong - No leaks - Recent filter and oil change to Brad Penn 20/50 Transaxle: - 4-spd 930 transaxle - Equipped with LSD - Shifts smoothly into all gears – no crunching of synchros - No jumping out of gears - Recent fluid change to Swepco 201 gear oil Summary: While not a show car, this slant nose 930 is a very nice presentable example of a relatively rare car. It has spent most of its life being summer driven in dry California and Alberta climates and has none of the rust issues commonly found on Euro cars of this age. It’s a 25year old car and has a degree of patina, but it’s been well cared for and is ready to drive anywhere. This would be an ideal candidate to be shipped back to Germany or any other European country as it’s in excellent structural shape. Feel free to ask any questions or request addition detailed photos. Payment: $1,000 deposit by paypal within 24 hrs and balance to be sent by bank wire transfer within one week.. Shipping: Shipping is to be arranged and paid for by the buyer. I can assist with shipping logistics on my end and have shipped cars overseas before, but the paperwork, customs forms, taxes and duties are the buyer’s responsibility. ![]()

Doesn't need it - it's so fast, it actually warps time and transports you back to mid 80's once boost comes on.

on fleabay now I see........
I'm game if you can you throw in a couple of real fenders and a louvre delete kit? but seriously Andrew, why not spend a $100 on a dyno test? be a good selling point as this car must be well over stock horsepower. |

Well... It's scheduled to go in for the PCA dyno day. Right now, it has a sort of 'standard' list of upgrades, so I can estimate about 360/370, but should have an exact # later this month

Just installed a '044' Bosch Motorsports fuel pump to make sure it gets all the fuel it wants and am putting on a Tial Wastegate this weekend with .9 bar boost for engine longevity (currently has the stock wastegate with a 1 bar spring).
Heading into fall, so $31,500 ![]() or I'l keep it, store it over winter and have fun with it next summer ![]() Thanks AM

Yeah, I think so. At least I think he got it from Andrew, but it's Scott's now for sure.

I saw that and was getting my trailer loaded up. Then I saw the date. Is that the same car on the cover of Classic Porsche last month?
