NS PCar owners
Hello folks
Moving to NS late March and wanting to connect with fellow Porsche owners to share knowledge, sunday drives and make friends with like minded enthusiasts. Also wanting advice on who / where is the best place to service our cars in and around the Halifax area. Anyone had any experience with Porsche Halifax? Looking to do full resto on my 87 928 S4 soon as I arrive... anyone with a 928 have any advice of who is the best shop for this projectin the region. Cheers Paul |
Hi Paul! Looking forward to meeting you once you get here!
I can't really help with who to use to service our cars as I do it all myself but next time I see the PCA guys I'll ask. See you in the next few months! David |
Welcome to Halifax.

Thanks guys, cant wait to get there.
Soooo many amazing roads to drive / places to eat... going to work my way around the whole coast line over the next year or two. And the Cabot Trial, enough said! Really looking forward to meeting all the Pcar crew there, people are just so friendly and down to earth. Please let me know what the guys say / have suggestions on where to take my car(s). Thanks. See you at the end of March. |
So envious of the roads you have there.

Hi Paul,
Looks like you have a very nice collection there. Welcome to NS. There is a fairly active group here in the province. PCA, Acadia Region is your best bet to meet many fellow enthusiasts. The club also has many organized drives and get togethers over the spring, summer and fall months. Good luck with your move and I look forward to meeting you sometime this spring or summer. Greg |
Hi Greg
Thanks for the note. Looks like we both have a great collection... for sure we need to compare notes on the S4 as I just picked one up 3 weeks ago when we were there (actually it’s a local car from Dartmouth and been in NS for last 14 years so you may have seen it driving around) It’s a great car but needs some TLC and a few small things to get it back to perfect. I am really looking forward to meeting everyone and seeing all the great cars. I have been a PCGB, a Northlander in NH and GTA based PCA member but I am very much looking forward to becoming an Acadia member as the people make the club! See you all end of March. |
Hi folks
So we made the big move and happy to say the family are happily settling into the new home here in NS. Apart from the rather late snow last night all is good. Haha NS weather for ya! I spent an hour this morning at Halifax Porsche... my fear about them not having the skills / experience to manage my older car projects was confirmed. They openly said they cant manage it which at least was good and honest of them but now leaves me trying to find a capable shop. Anyone know / can recommend a good shop in NS that can do resto, engine and gearbox work on the classic p-cars? Thanks Paul |
Paul,
Halifax Porsche had no issues doing an alignment on my '88. What kind of work are you trying to get done? I have been recommended Halifax Autosport and Eurowerks but have never visited either shop. |
Looking to get the below work done.
87 928 S4 resto - engine and trans rebuild. Bodywork / paint and some leather work. 1974 911 2.7 build out to Euro ROW spec 72 914 1.7 short storked to 1.9 and trans rebuild 931 full refresh A few sets of wheels need to be redone / refinished Plus a few other smaller bits of some of my other cars. Anyone use or know much about ISI out of Bedford? I am going to take ride over there tomorrow to check them out. I will take a look at the two places you mentioned. |
Paul,
Drop in to Eurowerks, just off Kempt Rd and speak with Burt Page. He's honest and experienced. Will only take on what he can do well. Acadia Region PCA meets second Tuesday of each month at Porsche of Halifax, 7pm. Tech topic for May is Tires. First Porsches on the Lawn at Chickenburger is 6pm June 6 Acadia Region Spring Pizza Nite - May 6, Boston Pizza, about 6pm "Ten-up" usually second Saturday of May at Halifax BMW, about 9am - Lots of different types of cars on the hoists. Race the Base, Shearwater, June 2 PCA Valley Tour - June 10 |
