Question Pelican Gathering at Rensport III

This is just to see how much interest there would be for a gathering of Pelicans on Thursday evening November 1st in Daytona prior to the start of Rennsport Reunion III. I coordinated this 3 years ago at the Daytona Ale House. Not a huge turnout, but we had a good time. I think we can get more Pelicans in attendance this year. It will be nice to put names and faces together the night before the big event starts. Nothing official yet, just putting out feelers to see how much interest there would be.

I am still trying to work it into my schedule. More than likely coming down Thursday to arrive that eve. So dinner would be nice, although I may not be very fresh after the 9 hour drive

So a beer and a warm plate of food will be just what you need.

I'm there with family and kids. Can't make it.

I'll be racing, look out for me (see avatar) ... I will not have been on the race car for several months by then so I'll be rusty though.

Rennsport III Or Bust!!!

I will be at Rennsport III - hotel booked... possibly driving with a group, so attendance might depend on group's interest.
I will spread the word, though...

Thanks!

I'll look for more confirmed numbers when we get closer to the event so I can call the restaurant to reserve some space.

The ale house is always a local favorite. great bar food and good drink prices. Unfortunately we aren't going up there until friday night or we'd join.

If you haven't been there before, YOU MUST order the chicken nachos.

As a land-locked Yankee, headed to Daytona from the Tex-A$$ prairie lands... sorry, but it's CHOWDA for me!

And how I miss FRESH caught seafood! Any local suggestions for that, btw?

Thanks!
(Jeez, now I am REALLY hungry!)

There are lots of choices for seafood in that area. One that is popular is:

Our Deck Down Under - more info
78 Dunlawton Ave, Port Orange, FL
(386) 767-1881
Category: Seafood

Its only a couple miles from the track. Its located on the intercoastal side of the island right under the bridge to the mainland. Enjoy!

Oh, and theres another place next to it that has good, cheap grouper sandwich baskets.

And on the mainland side of the bridge, but also facing the intercoastal waterway is Aunt Catfish. Never been, but it is popular. Now only if we could get DaddyGlenn to chime in and tell us out of towners where the real good places are.

Aunt Catfish's On the River

Port Orange, FL 32127

Just booked my flights today, I am flying into Daytona on the 1st arriving at 8.20pm (5:30 my time) so if anyone is around and wants to get a drink or late dinner that night, let me know.

Cheers
