when to get new winter tires
I have a set of michelin x-ice 3 tires that I use every winter. They were manufactured in 2009 and still look good (no visible cracks, etc...)
I just measured the tread depth and they were at 7/32, so plenty to go there. I have been thinking of buying new tires based on age, but don't want to be wasteful. What do folks around here think? Application is a 2001 VW GTI VR6, if that makes a difference. |

I usually replace mine 6 years after production date and that's what I'll be doing right now with mynitto tires.
