2007 MCS Temp Sensor Signal Error

We pulled the motor to replace my daughter's clutch. Now we get a CEL showing code "2F19 - Coolant Temperature Sensor, signal".

I've changed the sensor and the connector (thinking I pulled a wire or something during the removal?) but no joy. The light comes right back on after clearing the code and the radiator fan goes to HIGH mode even when cold.

So...
1. What should I check/fix next?
2. Is it safe for her to drive in the meantime?

Thanks.

Are you sure each connector is plugged into the right socket? Make sure you didn't connect the wrong one to the wrong socket, that'll trip the code. This article will show you which one goes to which socket: https://www.pelicanparts.com/techarticles/MINI_R56/89-WATER-Turbocharged_Engine_Thermostat_Replacement/89-WATER-Turbocharged_Engine_Thermostat_Replacement.htm. So you can double check your work.

2007 S "2F19" code

I'm experiencing this same problem with the same year and model. I've confirmed that the correct connector is plugged into a new Temp Sensor. I'm also getting code E717 (No message (engine data.1DO). Any recommendations.
