coolant leak
 

i have a coolant leak that seems to be coming from or behind the oil filter housing.
can't see for all the stuff around it. a mechanic told me that if i replaced the oil filter housing it would take care of the coolant leak and the very small oil leak i have in the same area.

The O ring in the housing may have got messed up when someone replaced the filter (happened to me, own stupid fault) and replacing it will probably fix the oil leak. But no way is that going to fix the coolant leak.

If it is a first gen MINI ...there is a small oil cooler that is at the base of the filter ... but no coolant there.

What gen ? and Are you in a Cooper or a S
