can i add a fuel filter under the hood near the motor my mini 50 runs good at higer rpm but rough at idle engin lite shows #4 CYL HAS SOME ELEC PROBEM TKS

If the filter is properly mounted it shouldn't be an issue to add one. However, fuel supply problems generally do not show up at idle and not off idle. I would look for other causes for your problems also. Vacuum leak, ignition issue, etc.
