In the top part of the instructions you state " Also DO NOT press the clutch pedal with the slave cylinder compressed"
In the second part with pictures you state "Just remember NOT to push the clutch pedal without the slave cylinder compressed or not installed on the transmission." These instructions are contradictory. Which one is it? When the salve cylinder is detached from the transmission, you should not press the clutch pedal. This could cause damage to the salve cylinder.

what about depressing with the slave cylinder compressed
Your response is still a bit unclear based upon your instructions in the tech article.
Yes, the clutch pedal shouldn't be depressed when the slave cylinder is not attached to the transmission housing because it can over-extend the actuator rod and destroy the slave cylinder. But in the first part of the instructions in the tech article you state "Also DO NOT press the clutch pedal with the slave cylinder compressed" BY depressing the clutch pedal while the slave cylinder is compressed using the tool would you run the risk of ruining the master cylinder? Thanks. |
