I did this replacement about a year ago, and recently, just after the Mini dealer replaced the power steering pump on recall the car started leaking small amounts of coolant. I traced the leak back to the hose between the pump and the flange on the block see pic 1 After I disassembled the hose & flange, I saw that the hose clamp on the water pump end had cut way into the hose. I did reuse the clamps, which in hindsight, I shouldn't have done, but I think it's a problem with that type of clamp. So I plan to replace the clamps with the screw type and a new hose, unless you know a reason why I shouldn't do that.

Replacing he clamps when removed is a good idea. Also be sure the clamp ends do not come in contact with engine parts when the engine moves or vibrates.
