Hi! I have a 2013 mini convertible and I'm a little confused about my trickle charger options presented by the dealership-
1. Raise hood- part is $73 and labor makes it a $267 job
2. They say I can pick plug placement, part remains $73 but labor cost could increase any recommendations on where to place the plug and does this sound like a typical cost for this type of job?
3. Should I purchase a trickle charger on my own and find a shop to install?

I'm trying to take care of all the details and prove to my husband I can deal with the car; Thanks!

shouldn't take more than an hour to install the one in article. You can get a battery tender from pelican parts, then either install yourself or have a local shop do it. Give The Pelican Parts parts specialists a call at 1-888-280-7799. They can figure out what part or repair kit you need.

What are the last 7 digits of your MINI's vin number? The 2nd option at this link here should work for you: 2013 Mini Cooper Base Convertible - Charging System & Battery - Page 1.

You can use the Alligator Clip Harness to put onto the vehicle when it's in the garage parked. You can remove it from the battery when you go to drive the vehicle. This may be easier than just installing the ring terminal harness shown in figure 6 with the green arrows. Or you can install those and just plug it into the wall adapter (yellow arrow at figure 6) when you return home with the vehicle.
